Kidney Stone and Drugs With Their Types and Symptoms

We know that a kidney is a bean-shaped and fist-sized organ that filters blood, removes drugs and excess fluids from the body that comes out in the form of urine. There are two kidneys in a human body located at the lower side of the rib-cage, opposite to each other. Kidneys control the production of red blood cells and also they regulate the blood pressure levels. Major functioning of urine is the removal of waste and extra fluid in form of urine. The production of urine in a highly complex process that involves critical steps of excretion and re-absorption.

The kidneys perform their continuous job of filtering about 120 to 152 quarts that are 113 to 144 liters of blood, to create 1 to 2 quarts (0.94 to 1.8 l) of urine every day that is stored in the bladder for about 1 to 8 hours.

Kidney stones and their symptoms:

During this life-sustaining job of kidneys, sometimes, due to the excess of waste and lack of fluids, the waste stick around in the kidney and they form crystals that combine together and become stones.

The stones actually do not harm kidneys but, they produce pain inside the abdomen. If the stones remain persistent in the kidney, then an abdominal pain occurs but in a case when it passes through the tube draining urine, it causes severe pain that disturbs the whole body. It is because the stone sticks inside the tube while the ureter squeezes it towards the bladder. This pain is called Renal Colic. Which can be cure with herbs.

Types of kidney stones:

All the stones are not made up of same crystals. They are several types of kidney stones:

Calcium

These are the most commonly known kidney stones made up of calcium oxalate, maleate or phosphate. Foods with fewer oxalate such as Broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, lettuce, mushrooms, onions and carrots can reduce the risk of developing such kidney stones.

Uric acid

Another type of kidney stone that is common in men is the Uric acid. It takes place in people going through chemotherapy or having gout. It develops due to the high acidic level of urine.

Struvite

A stone found in women having urinary tract infections. These stones can cause urinary obstruction due to their massive sizes.

The main cause of struvite is the kidney infection.

Cystine

These are the rare type of kidney stones that occur in both genes due to genetic disorder cystinuria. Due to this stone, a natural substance called cystine leaks from the kidney into the urine.

Reasons for the occurrence of kidney stones:

The top most reason due to which a stone occurs in a kidney is the production of less than one liter of urine in a day.

The more the urine produced, the lesser will be the chances of developing kidney stones.

The kidney stones take place between the age of twenty to forty years, mostly.

There are many other reasons that cause stones in kidney. Drugs, bowel diseases, excess usage of salts, proteins and high glucose diets, obesity and dehydration. These are the very well known factors responsible for the development of stones in kidneys. But when it occurs then it took some time to pass kidney stones.

How to prevent from stones?

In order to prevent stones, proper hydration is required. Drinking more amount of fluids make more urine that help in flushing the kidneys. It is recommended that one should produce about 2.5 liters of urine in a day in order to maintain kidney functionality and health.

Kidney stones are one of the most diseases that resist in urinary track. These are formed when our urine contains substances in forms of crystals such as uric acid, oxalate and calcium.
