Walking Pneumonia Treatment - Conventional and 3 Ideas With Alternative Medicine

Today I would like to share some walking pneumonia treatment that involves traditional and alternative medicine.

If you are wondering what the heck it is, it's a slang definition of a mild case of pneumonia. This disease is when a virus, bacteria or even fungus grows in the lungs and this creates inflammation.

Believe it or not it can be deadly and according the CDC it's the eight reason for death in the U.S. This infection prevents good oxygen exchange and basically can carry the infection into the blood stream and this increases the chance of death, especially in people with weak immune systems.

One of the classic symptoms is coughing, shortness of breath and other common signs would be a fever or chills. The body changes its temperature to kill off the invader.

Chest pains, headaches and lack of appetite are other signs. Interestingly enough if you stop eating for a day it makes your immune system stronger and it's a reason why you don't have much of an appetite if you are sick. Your body is smart isn't it?

Conventional treatments usually involve rest and lots of fluid, which are great treatments for anytime you may be ill. If it's a bacterial infection then antibiotics can be used and there is medicine for fungus. For serious cases then a machine can help someone breath.

When it comes to alternative medicine there are really many options. One is coconut oil, which is dirt cheap.

In a study from New York University Langone Medical Center there were 40 children who had pneumonia. All were given antibiotics and half received a dose of coconut oil based on their weight.

The children who received doses of coconut oil recovered much faster, they had a normal respiratory rate after less than 33 hours compared to 48 hours for the children that didn't take the coconut oil. Of course the million dollar question is how much coconut oil to take right?

Another idea is green tea, again it's very inexpensive. Researchers from Japan did a study and they found that drinking a single cup of green tea daily cut the chance of dying from pneumonia by 41 percent. There is some fine print and that is that it applies to women not men. Still green tea is wonderful for your immune system and overall health.

Next up there are boat loads of herbs that have anti-bacterial and anti-viral abilities. One idea that I think is great is they have supplements on the marketplace that combine a bunch of these herbs that really boost up your immune system. They can be used when your feeling sick or maybe you are traveling and don't want to get food poisoning or something.
